Anne Riley

Local Board Candidate for Whau

Anne Riley

I'm standing for Whau Local Board to represent the voice of residents who often go unheard.

I know the Whau well, having grown up in Avondale and raised my own family in the area.

You might know me from when I managed the Toy Library in Green Bay, or currently as Coordinator for Feed the Streets. I'm also active in governance and other community roles across the Whau area.

I want vibrant, regenerated town centres, which Auckland Council has neglected for years. The Whau needs a pool and recreation centre. I will work to develop our natural environment through bee-friendly neighbourhoods and enhancing Whau's green infrastructure.

We must address health and safety issues in our community with safer streets and parks.

Encouraging Auckland Council to eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy will help bring more of our rates back to the Whau.
