As a current member and lone centre-right voice on Waitematā Local Board, I know how easy it is for it to become nothing more than a wheel-spinning, rubber-stamping bureaucracy.

It needs members who share the vision of a board that is prepared to be bold and demand from Council the big changes our community needs. We need to breath life back into our struggling city – like a multi-purpose waterfront stadium.

I’m a central city local. This is my backyard and I live, work, shop, eat, run and enjoy everything in it, every day. I see its enormous potential. But the stark reality is, it is full of empty shops, graffiti, rough sleepers and broken street furniture. It is lacking the basic amenities that a modern city needs.

The C&R team has the drive and the skills to fix this.
