Malcolm Turner
Candidate for Manukau Ward
Candidate for Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board

I’ve lived in the Manukau Ward for 20+ with my family. It is our home. We live in Māngere Bridge where my two children attend our local schools. We shop locally, enjoy our parks and fight the same battles with Auckland Transport as you.

I’m an active member of the Māngere Bridge Community Patrols, Onehunga-Māngere United Sports Club and Māngere Bridge Residents and Ratepayers Association. I started a Community Noticeboard which now has over 9000 local residents.

Auckland Council is struggling with a range of issues: congestion; housing affordability, rising crime; polluted beaches and waterways and threatened green spaces.

We need fresh leadership that works for our growing and increasingly diverse population, and supports our community organisations/local businesses to thrive. As your councillor, I’ll fight to ensure Auckland Council rebuilds the trust of its residents and remain grounded and attentive to our neighbourhood’s needs.
