Penny Tucker

Ōrākei Local Board Member

Former business owner, writer, and health advocate, Penny is the mother of three teenagers and lives in Kohi. She's been deeply invested in providing policy advice as a volunteer to Patient Voice Aotearoa seeking better access to critical medicines for everyone. Her three kids have attended local schools and she wants a community where they can roam safely. A pragmatic problem-solver with a track record of going into bat on issues that require more focus than a mere email or voicemail message, Penny’s focused on crime, water integrity, protection of parks, heritage/character considerations and transport. Wasting money on redundant processes and avoiding tough calls on pressing issues is not in Penny’s DNA. Penny brings to the C&R team broad business and local experience, deep knowledge of public policy and political processes, commitment to the Ōrākei area and open-door approach regarding new ideas.
